Home Version of SpikeBall

Here's what we call an inexpensive, easy version of the game, SpikeBall. All you need is a bouncy ball and a hula hoop. Actually, you don't even need a hula hoop. You can just draw a circle on a hard surface, like a driveway, with a piece of chalk. The first player starts the game by tossing the ball in the circle, and from then on, the players have to strike the ball, with the ball landing inside the circle. A game can be played to 3 or 5 if you have others waiting to play. If you don't have anyone waiting to play, players can play to whatever score they choose, win by two. Of course, SpikeBall, the official game is fun, and just a little more difficult. If you've got some older kids, that might be a good purchase. Beach Tip

Here’s a good way to keep the little ones happy and safe while playing at the beach this summer. A kiddie inflatable pool filled with just a little water can keep them entertained while keeping a watch on them. Just don't leave the kids there the entire time, though you might think about it. Enjoy the sand, the sun, look for shells, play games, and more. You might include a few simple water toys. We looked up the pools on Amazon, and you can get one, an Amazon's Choice for under $30.00. You can't beat that!
